Bluegrass Tank and Equipment was founded by Richard E. Davis in Elizabethtown, Kentucky more than thirty years ago and began operations in January of 1972 with just two employees. In 1986, the present facility was built to manage the business growth in the fabrication and repair of food grade transport tanks.

The current Elizabethtown facility consists of a 28,600 sq. ft. shop with supporting offices, storage yard and parking areas. In 2003, a repair facility located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, named Sooner Tank, was acquired to handle specialized repair and maintenance service needs in the west.

Since 1975, Bluegrass Tank and Equipment has been an authorized Walker dealer selling sanitary food grade transport trailers. In 2004, to further meet our customer needs, Bluegrass Tank and Equipment added the Trail King Division that includes the Ti Brook series of trailers.

The company has a long tradition of custom-built transport tanks in support of the dairy industry. In addition, Bluegrass Tank and Equipment has manufactured fire and rescue apparatus trucks for more than ten years on a custom design basis.

For the 2004 Calendar year, gross sales are anticipated to exceed more than twelve million dollars in annual revenues. The company currently employs more than thirty-five people in two states. The T. Davis Sales and Time Leasing subsidiaries were added to provide needed service capabilities through the addition of a sales and leasing operation.

Still privately owned by its founder, Bluegrass Tank and Equipment strives for a reputation of excellence for quality sales, service and support in the fire apparatus and sanitary tank transport industry nationwide.
